The In Rose Framework — Rest. Regulation. Reflection.

A structured, evidence-informed approach to workplace wellbeing, developed from a decade of NHS mental health and job retention practice. Simple in structure, deep in impact — supporting nervous system recovery, emotional resilience, and lasting behavioural change in individuals and teams.

The In Rose Framework

One backbone. Every scale of delivery.

The In Rose model — Rest → Regulation → Reflection — is the backbone of everything In Rose Clinic delivers. It is designed to be accessible at every scale: from a single 30-minute taster appointment to a full annual embedded programme. Organisations and individuals can enter at the level that suits them and scale up as trust and need grows. RestCreate safety in the nervous system

Rest is the foundation of all sustainable wellbeing. Before performance, productivity or reflection, the body must feel safe enough to settle.

  • Guided breathwork to down-regulate stress response
  • Somatic grounding and body-based awareness
  • Sensory regulation for overstimulation and neurodivergence
  • Micro-rest practices embedded into the working day

Why it matters: Without physiological safety, the nervous system remains in survival mode. Rest creates the conditions for clarity, focus and emotional stability.

02

RegulationBuild capacity under pressure

Once safety is established, we strengthen the ability to remain steady in demanding environments. This stage develops emotional, cognitive and physiological self-regulation.

  • Mindfulness and attention training
  • Recognising early stress signals in the body
  • Emotional regulation and integration tools
  • Psychological safety tools for leaders and teams

Why it matters: Regulation is what allows people to stay grounded under pressure rather than becoming overwhelmed by it.

03

ReflectionTurn insight into lasting change

Reflection is where experience becomes integration. Without reflection, learning remains temporary. With it, change becomes embodied and sustainable.

  • Guided reflective practice and dialogue
  • One-to-one holistic wellbeing appointments
  • Team reflection circles
  • Personal wellbeing action planning

Why it matters: Reflection turns awareness into action, strengthening both individual wellbeing and team culture over time.

The whole-person view

Eight dimensions. One framework.

Underneath Rest, Regulation and Reflection sits the Holistic Health wheel — physical, mental, spiritual, nutrition, social, environmental, sleep & rest, and time. It gives teams a shared map of what whole-person care actually looks like.

Why it's effective

A different sequence to most wellbeing.

Most workplace wellbeing approaches focus on information or coping strategies alone. The In Rose Framework follows a different sequence:

  • Rest → creates safety
  • Regulation → builds capacity
  • Reflection → creates lasting change

When the nervous system is supported first, everything else becomes more effective — communication, leadership, decision-making and resilience.
